Tour of Britain

YodelDirect and the Aviva Tour of Britain

If you haven’t already heard, YodelDirect loves cycling! in fact it’s one of our main delivery sectors.

As logistics partner to the UK's biggest professional cycle race, we have been helping deliver the Aviva Tour of Britain and we are going to continue delivering for them in years to come.

YodelDirect is responsible for transporting the Tour's equipment around the country. With the event running for eight consecutive days and covering over 1,300 km of the UK, Yodel has deployed and branded one trailer and 16 vans as support. They will be used to deliver staging, safety equipment, spectator barriers and most important of all, the finishing line gantry, as well as the teams' equipment to each of the Tour's stages.

We run some great competitions each year with a chance to win fantastic prizes from all the competitors, tickets to the stages and even track rides. Why don’t you follow us @yodeldirect and get involved. It could be you! Followers might also get a discount or two!

YodelDirect and James Rhodes - Don't Stop the Music

YodelDirect and Don’t Stop the Music

YodelDirect from Yodel, is giving its support to concert pianist James Rhodes and his project ‘Don’t Stop the Music’.

The donated instruments were collected by YodelDirect from 700 Oxfam shops nationwide, and taken to a central sorting facility where they were refurbished. Yodel's drivers will then deliver the instruments to 150 primary schools, which have registered to take part in the scheme.

James Rhodes said: "Music saved my life. It's that powerful. Young children have a hunger and thirst to learn music and we must give every child the opportunity to learn a musical instrument. I believe the 'Instrument Amnesty' can help to achieve that for thousands of kids up and down the country. With the amazing support of partners like Yodel's YodelDirect service we can do something brilliant, long lasting and life affirming."

Yodel already has an established link with education, delivering millions of parcels of educational materials to schools, colleges and students each year.

World Book Night

YodelDirect and World Book Night

World Book Night is a yearly celebration of reading and books run by national charity The Reading Agency and sponsored by Yodel. Initially launched in 2011 and taking place annually on 23rd April, book-loving volunteers hand out thousands of books every year to people within their community who might not have access to books or aren't regular readers. Last year, Yodel delivered over 250,000 books throughout World Book Night.

Yodel has sponsored World Book Night for two years and will continue to do so in 2015. With Yodel’s link to the publishing industry, this partnership was a natural fit.
